Shieldon in County Durham, was the world’s first railway town. In 1820, Stockton & Darlington Railway chose the town for its engineering headquarters. The rail industry went on to change British industry drastically. The local museum, Locomotion, is one of the best places in the UK to learn about how engineers influenced our railway history and changed all of our lives.

The Professor Bubbleworks team is dedicated to inspiring and educating the next generation of engineers and inventors that can build upon this rich legacy and keep making valuable improvements within the UK and beyond.

Our fully trained team members are experts in delivering exciting activities to kids between the ages of 4-11. We offer engaging science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) workshops in County Durham.
