Rolls-Royce was first known as a British luxury car manufacturer, however, during the First World War the company adapted their factories to manufacture engines for aircraft. Many of these early engines, as well as aircrafts, and other artefacts about the aviation industry in the UK, can be seen in the Gatwick Aviation Museum in Surrey.
