The Science and Industry Museum in Manchester is based at the site of the original terminus of the world’s first inter-city railway. The museum tells the story of the historic importance of industry in the city whilst showcasing a vibrant contemporary science programme. The museum explores the connections between scientific theory and real-world applications. It’s also one the primary sites of the annual Manchester Science Festival.
