International Day of Light
Light is fundamental to all our lives. Through photosynthesis, light is at the origin of life itself. The study of light has led to vital developments in renewable energy sources, lifesaving medical advances and sophisticated telescopes like Hubble and James Webb, that have led to many discoveries that have shaped our understanding of the universe.
The Professor Bubbleworks team thinks light is fascinating. It comes from many different sources such as the Sun, stars, fires, torches, fireflies and glow-worms. We have lots of fun and interactive science experiments that encourage kids to explore questions like: Why do I see lightning before I hear it?, how can light be manipulated using smoke and mirrors? and why do plants need light to grow?
