Inspiring Science Workshops for Primary Schools

International Polar Bear Day

Polar bears live and roam across the Arctic ice. However, the sea ice in the Arctic has been melting at an alarmingly fast rate over the last decades. This is causing the polar ice cap to shrink over time. Due to this shrinkage, polar bears have been losing their habitats, their food sources and sadly dying from starvation and exhaustion.

To mark International Polar Bear Day, the Professor Bubbleworks team has crafted a hands-on workshop that centres around the change in the polar bears’ habitat. Through scientific experiments kids aged between 4-11 can explore the properties of ice and see for themselves why the polar bears’ habitat is so fragile.
